Title:
Mindfulness and Depression
Abstract:
Mindfulness reduces the rumination effects of depression, preventing depression from bringing about other illnesses. Our literature-based research on mindfulness and depressions reveals lessened effects of rumination, decreased proliferation of further illness, and increased self-reported well-being. The correlation reflects the effectiveness of mindfulness as a treatment option for depression. Further research could indicate benefits of teaching mindfulness early to protect against the development of preventable illnesses.
