NAU Ethnicity & Sex Equality Gaps
Abstract:
This project involves analyzing disparities at Northern Arizona University (NAU) using two primary datasets: demographic information about NAU employees and salary and job title data from 2017 to 2023. We focus our analysis on the available demographic information, including sex, ethnicity, and department. Based on these demographic characteristics, we have identified patterns and potential disparities within NAU’s salaries. We also scrutinized the job distribution, which enumerates who holds a position and how many individuals from a given demographic are employed in certain roles. As a result, the project provides insights into how demographic factors may correlate to disparities at NAU, contributing to a broader understanding of equality and inclusion in higher education.
