Abstract:
This art education research project focuses on answering the question of how the Reggio Emilia Approach to children’s education affects the development of children (i.e. between the ages of three and five) in early childhood care. More specifically, this project aims to identify ways in which the Reggio Emilia Approach encourages and strengthens the natural curiosity and discovery in children, leading to more sincere learning. This question will be answered by observing how Reggio Emilia, as implemented in the NAU Early Learning and Development Center (ELDC). This information will be gathered through the analysis of surveys completed by the teachers at the ELDC. This project will help provide additional information as to what the best practices are for early childhood education. The result of this project will be applicable to parents and educators who are seeking guidance about which education method is best for children’s development.
