Abstract:

Modern cancer treatment consisting of chemotherapy, radiation, and surgical intervention has been used for more than a century with moderately slow advancements. However, natural remedies have emerged and demonstrated promising results in augmenting patient outcomes due to their critical roles exhibited in the health of natural beings throughout history. By exploring naturopathic avenues within literature-based research, there has been development in cancer therapies and modalities, such as the utilization of genetically altered viruses like the poliovirus, which exhibits selective tropism for neoplastic cells. Furthermore, the Taramites Versicolor mushroom, also known as Turkey Tail, has demonstrated immunomodulatory and anticarcinogenic properties due to its composition of various specified polysaccharides. Additionally, zoopharmacological methodologies present the opportunity to exploit and implement mammalian, marine, and insect DNA into the human genome for the tumor suppressive capabilities. In contrast to traditional oncological therapy, natural alternatives offer the potential for an increase in cancer survival rates while simultaneously inhibiting adverse side effects.
