Title:
PhotoBot
Abstract:
PhotoBot is a robotics project with the goal of allowing a user to wirelessly drive and see the robot's surroundings, even when the robot is out of sight. This is accomplished by attaching a camera to a robot, which livestreams a video to a streaming platform, while the user controls the robot using joysticks connected to an Android device. The robot can be used to explore locations that a human may not want or be able to go, for example: exploring small spaces or an area that may be unsafe for humans to enter, like a damaged building. The robot will be able to be driven to these locations, while the user watches the video livestream to observe the robot's surroundings as they are driving it.
The robot will allow for future modifications and expansions as well, since it is built off of a prebuilt robot base with the ability to add external computer boards and components.
